I started out as a lecturer in English and General studies in Further Education, but soon abandoned this for singing  and subsequently singing teaching in Germany

After my return to England, and following a brief sojourn as a part-time teacher in Secondary Education,   I moved into peripatetic work as a singing teacher, later diversifying into Primary and Adult Education.

During the academic year 2002-2003 I took part in a study to test the benefits of taking Adult Education courses into residential homes for the elderly. This tied in very well with my current concert work for Music in Hospitals, and  with the shared responsibility for facilitating  a music club for people with epilepsy and associated difficulties.

There is now funding for the outreach courses taken into the elderly community. As is now officially acknowledged, singing is good for you! To date my students' ages extend to 100 plus.
